Exploring local design scenes at November's Dribbble Meetups 2019

The Dribbble community is always active and ready to talk shop, and last month was no different on the Meetups front. Dribbblers brought 18 official Meetups to life in November, with events happening from Boston, to Bangalore, to Buenos Aires.

Remember, attending a Dribbble Meetup is a tremendous way to experience your local design scene. Be sure to check out our schedule of upcoming events for the chance to meet and mingle with designers, studios, and practitioners at a Dribbble Meetup near you. In addition to hanging out and making connections, there are good vibes to go around, and you might just do battle with your new friends while testing your design skills during an action-packed Analog Playoff. And if you’d like to actively build up the design community in your own backyard, you can always host a meetup of your very own!

Here’s a sampling of the Dribbble Meetups that took place last month, all around the globe. Keep an eye out for a Meetup happening in your area—you won’t want to miss out!

Tampa, Florida

“Rainy weather could not put a damper on Tampa’s November meetup! Over a dozen designers met up at one of Tampa’s finest local breweries, 7venth Sun. A wide-ranging discussion was had that covered topics from freelancing to what exactly an art director is. Our monthly analog challenge was a hit as well, with participants having to draw a turkey using the design tool they were most thankful for. The winning design? A turkey sporting a sweet paintbrush and sick shades by Ryan Parag.”

Lisbon, Portugal

“OutSystems Lisbon hosted the World Usability Day 2019! More than 130 UX/UI Designers, Product Designers, Product Managers, and other creatives got together to a few hours of talks, networking and some great swag!

“A great agenda and an honest conversation about topics that matter, with names like Mindaugas Petrutis (Invision) talking about how to find your dream job in Design; Andrew Beckley (Impossible) on having a sustainable and planet-centric mindset; Esther Duran (Fjord) showing the importance of having a diverse and inclusive work environment; Miguel and José (OutSystems) showcasing their work on improving Accessibility on OutSystems product. In the end, there was a discussion panel lead by Tom Cotterill (Fantasy) about having difficult conversations with stakeholders and teams.

“The event was sponsored by some of the top brands like Dribbble, Invision, UXPressia, and Sketch, and sold out in less than 24 hours! It was a huge success.”

Montevideo, Uruguay

“This was the 3rd Dribbble Meetup in Montevideo and this time we talked about how to make work and communication between designers and developers more efficient. The group was formed by UX designers, testers, and engineers among others who were very interested in the subject and then performed a practical exercise with very good results. It was an afternoon of learning and exchange, and with many hopes, we await the next meetup!” — Check out a video recap of this meetup here!

Boston, Massachusetts

“Dribbble Was thrilled to co-host a Meetup with DraftKings at their Boston headquarters at the beginning of November. Over 100 designers came out to this sold-out event to meet and mingle, tour DraftKings’ state-of-the-art space, and talk shop over pizza. The night also featured a panel discussion with design leaders from Toast, HubSpot, and LogMeIn, moderated by Melanie Butcher, DraftKings’ Vice President of Design. A big thanks to all our friends that came out, and DraftKings for hosting the Meetup with us!”
