Tons of designers gathered at 15 Dribbble Meetups this November

Over 665 Dribbblers attended a total of 15 meetups around the world this November! From casual hang-outs, an intimate dinner party, and a few design talks, we loved seeing our community gather and share their love for design.

Interested in attending a Dribbble Meetup? It’s not too late to join one near you in December in places like Bhubaneswar, Tehran, Noida, and more! Can’t find a meetup near you? How about hosting your own Dribbble Meetup and help grow the community in your area?

Noida, India @ Webkul Software

“The second edition of Webkul Dribbble Meetup started with a gathering of 40+ attendees. The meetup was solely focused on knowledge sharing and bringing the exposure to new design trends and tools to local designers from the town. The event started with a welcome note and later an Analog PlayOff. The event was proudly sponsored by Webkul, Dribbble, SketchApp, and UVdesk who brought goodies, drinks, and pizzas to all the attendees. Attendees participated in activities like Design Quest, Design War, and Icon Hunt and many others.

“Apart from all these fun and engaging events, Webkul Dribbble Meetup 2K18 was also boosted by a set of Conferences and Talks where Nitish Khagwal from Webkul Design took over “Ins and Outs of Interaction Design”. Abhinav Agrawal was a guest speaker who enlightened us on how designers can utilize “Social Media to outreach their presence”. Later on, Tarun and Kunj from Webkul Design talked about “Bringing Motion to Mobile Illustrations” using tools like Lottie and BodyMovin. Ankita Singh amazed the attendees with her calligraphic skills and she included the perks and how-to’s of the calligraphy and typography. Chaman Sharma from Dotnik Design Studio explained “Getting Started as Interaction Designer” to the crowd.

“Designers came upfront and participated in a “Show your Swag” activity which helped local designers showcase their work in front of other designers. The event ended with announcing the winners of different competitions and quizzes which was followed by loud cheers and joy from the attendees. Attendees had a Q&A session with speakers and among themselves and that is how everything set to dusk. Check out more glimpses here.”

Wroclaw, Poland @ Barbara

“At the fifth Dribbble Meetup, we had three inspiring talks. The first one was all about the Product Design process and tools used to do it efficiently. The second talk was targeted at aspiring designers who would like to present their work in our local Design Gallery. The final talk was about the future of Product Design and a tool called “phase”, that a fully remote team of designers and developers is working on worldwide. Between the talks, we had another edition of our Design Quiz. The venue was fully packed again with over 160 creative minds in just 3 minutes after opening the gates. It was awesome!”

Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina @ Mistral Technologies

“Our second Sarajevo Dribbble Meetup was held on Thursday, November 15th in Mistral Technologies offices in Sarajevo. The meetup was organized by Vildana Lojo from Sarajevo Designs and IxDA Bosnia and Herzegovina and it was powered by Mistral which provided the venue and swag for the participants.

“The general focus of this Dribbble Meetup was designing for augmented reality. Amra Pasanovic, Adnan Puzic @adnanpuzic, Kenan Zekic, and Mehdi Rashadatjou shared their experiences with more than 100 designers and creatives.

“After the presentations, some participants joined the challenge to design the UI concept for the AR app in an Analog Playoff while others discussed the design techniques and tools including Sketch. It was an inspirational night for many designers and even some developers.”

Uyo, Nigeria @ The Roothub

“Our Uyo Dribbble Meetup 1.0 was truly a blast. We had four creative speakers and they covered topics such as designing for all five senses, ideation and execution, UX and you, and the first secret of design. We had 100+ creatives in attendance and lots of contacts were made and lots of games played too. It’s our first ever meetup and it wowed us. Thanks to The Roothub, Codekago, and StartHub for the support.”

Gothenburg, Sweden @ The Techno Creatives

The Techno Creatives hosted one of Gothenburg’s first Dribbble Meetups in a long time and attracted over 40 eager participants for an evening of interesting talks, discussions, and good old networking. Two speakers graced the stage, starting with Noel Braganza, the Design Director at the Techno Creatives, followed by Jonas Treup, Product Engineer at Framer. The talks ranged from design methodologies learned during Noel’s time at the MIT Design Lab to the evolution of Framer and where it’s heading. After the talks, we had a short panel discussion around the influence of Dribbble on the design community. All in all, it was great to have the Dribbble community in Gothenburg come together for such an evening. A shout out to all those who sent in Swag! @Dribbble, @sketchapp, @framer, and @zeplin. We look forward to the next session soon.”

Prague, Czech Rebuplic @ Excelsior Pub

“At this meetup, we talked about virtual and augmented reality. It was a very nice atmosphere and a lively debate took place. During the meetup, some people opened a few new potential themes for next meetup for example ethics in designing.”

Tokyo, Japan @ Ashi

“We had about 15 people come to the meet up last week. Everyone met, talked about their work, networked, had a few drinks and relaxed together. This time was the biggest turn-out thus far for our Tokyo Dribbble Meetups!”
