It was a pleasure working with Sayem! He took the time to understand the vision behind my brand and turn it into reality. I love how the logo came out and I am excited to implement this into my brand! He was very efficient, creative, and attentive throughout the process. Communication was great. Working with Sayem on the Sankofa Riddim identity has been an extraordinary creative experience.
I came to him with something much more difficult than a request for a logo. I had a story, a philosophy, a connection between Jamaica, Africa and the diaspora, and a vision rooted in remembrance, ancestry, service and what we leave for the generations that follow. I knew what Sankofa Riddim meant in my heart, but I did not yet know what it should look like.
Sayem listened.
And then he did something remarkable: he translated that meaning into a visual language.
Throughout the project, he never rushed toward the obvious answer. He questioned, refined, explained and, when necessary, exercised restraint. Every element had to earn its place. The result is not simply a beautiful emblem and wordmark, but a complete identity system with meaning behind every decision—from the symbolism and colour weighting to typography, production standards and guidance for those who may one day steward the brand after us.
What impressed me most was the care he brought to the why. He understood that I wasn’t looking for something fashionable; I wanted something enduring. His final work respects where Sankofa Riddim comes from while giving it room to grow into places neither of us can yet imagine.
Sayem is an exceptional designer, but this experience showed me something more important: he is a thoughtful creative partner who listens for the story beneath the assignment.
I began this project hoping to find someone who could help create the identity of Sankofa Riddim. I leave this first phase believing we have found someone who can grow with it.
Thank you, Sayem, for treating this work with the care, intelligence and respect it deserved. I could not be more pleased with what we created together.
