Twonks

Steve Nelson is a British illustrator/cartoonist and the creator of Twonks (a popular webcomic). His original background was in comedy writing (creator of Audible originals series The Temp) but shifted his full focus to illustration during the pandemic. It wasn't long before he landed a big campaign with Confused.com for which he spent 2 years providing weekly cartoons and illustrations to appear as front page adverts on the Metro/Evening Standard/Sunday Times. One of the cartoons for the campaign also appeared regularly on the side of a bus in ITV's Emmerdale.

Over the last year his illustration style has shifted slightly to encompass the Twonks characters for which he is now most known. This has lead to being invited by guest curator Pieter de Poorte (Dickie Comics) to display some of his artwork at the annual Cartoon Festival in Knokke-Heist, Belgium (knokke-heist.be/cartoonfestival-knokke-heist) and providing illustrations for New Scientist.
