If you have a book which you've poured your life and soul in, it deserves a cover that will not only reflect it's ideas but captures the attention of potential readers and makes it stand out on a shelf (even a digital one:)
I love working with book covers because it allows me to distill book's ideas and tone of voice into a visual concept that represents the story faithfully with the sense of intent and visual cohesion. In order to achieve that I structure the process as follows:
Getting to know the book - You can share a synopsis, a chapter or an excerpt - I mostly need to get an idea of the book's narration, tone of voice and what it's about. If there're specific themes you want to illustrate on the cover, we'll discuss that and how you see it brought to life. Your input as an author is essential to me.
Developing distinct concepts for the cover - I work on various ideas (at least 4) based on the content of the book and your expectations. My goal here is to explore the cover from different angles and try various approaches to find the one that resonates with the story the most.
Developing and polishing chosen concept, preparing the files for printing/publishing - I work on updating the concept, creating more iterations if necessary and preparing the files for your chosen medium (either print or e-publishing).Let's create the cover that is worthy of your book and brings new readers to it!
