Ongoing Design Support (80 Hours/Month)

About this Service

Ongoing Design Support (80 hours/month) UI/UX Design Monthly Retainer This is a retainer service aimed at clients who need continuous design work – e.g. a startup constantly evolving its product or adding new features, but who may not want a full-time designer in-house. Entrecasa can act as an external design team on-call for a set number of hours per month. We’ve delivered ongoing design support for leading blockchain teams, including API3, ChainAPI, Hardhat, Nomic Foundation, and Decentraland.

  • Includes: Up to 80 hours per month of design work. This typically covers roughly half-time engagement spread throughout the month. In this model, Entrecasa becomes a flexible design partner, handling various tasks as needed: user interface design for new features, ongoing user experience improvements, creating new pages or screen designs, designing marketing materials or graphics related to the product (within reason), and collaborating with the client’s product/dev team via their workflow (stand-up meetings, Slack, etc. as needed). We prioritize tasks with the client at the start of each period and deliver on a weekly or bi-weekly sprint basis. The work can include minor branding needs, but primarily it’s for digital product design/UI work.

    • Product UI for web/app: flows, components, states, responsive variants (desktop/tablet/mobile)

    • Landing pages & conversion boosts (hero, IA, pricing, forms, A/B-ready variants)

    • Design system upkeep: tokens, components, documentation (Figma variables, Auto Layout, library hygiene)

    • Prototyping & micro‑interactions (Figma prototypes)

    • Dev handoff: specs, redlines, assets, interaction notes (WCAG AA contrast notes)

    • Design QA on staging before release (visual parity checklist)

  • Deliverables: Whatever design outputs are needed that month – it could be new screen designs, updated prototypes, design system components, or even HTML/CSS advice if within our scope. We maintain a log of hours used vs remaining. At the end of each month, we provide a summary of work completed. All design files remain shared with the client continuously (e.g., working in a shared Figma).

  • Does NOT Include: Guaranteed full-time equivalent output beyond 80 hours (if more work is needed, it either rolls into next month or is agreed upon as overtime or an expanded retainer). It also doesn’t include unrelated services like heavy graphic illustration (unless agreed as part of the hours), development coding, or large standalone projects that would exceed the monthly hours (those would be separate projects). Essentially, it’s not a fixed-scope project but a time-based engagement. Unused hours typically do not carry over (unless negotiated), and the agreement would specify how additional hours are billed if needed.

    Not included:

    • Development (front/back end)

    • Major rebrands, naming, or full brand strategy

    • Large custom illustration/3D or complex motion (available as add‑on)

    • Long‑form copywriting / content production

  • Logistics & Timeline: The retainer is usually a minimum commitment of 3 months (for consistency) and renewable. 80 hours/month means roughly 20 hours/week. We set up a schedule with the client to make sure requests are prioritized. For instance, the client might file design tickets and we tackle them, or we plan weekly deliverables. Flexibility is key: some weeks might use slightly more hours, others less, as long as it averages out. Regular check-ins (weekly design reviews) are included to stay aligned.

    Cadence & communication:

    • Weekly planning + priorities (Monday)

    • 1 stand‑up (30m) + 1 review (45m) per week (Zoom/Meet/Loom)

    • Async updates in Slack/Telegram; typical response within 24 business hours
