About this Service
For a simple illustration, I state a timeframe of 1 to 3 business days from start to finish.
Here's a breakdown of that timeframe for it:
Initial Concept & Sketching: This part of the process happens after the client gives me a brief. I spend a few hours sketching out my ideas.
Vectorization & Flat Colors: This is the core of the Illustrator work. For a simple illustration, this can take a few hours to a full day.
Refinement & Client Feedback: After I present the initial design, the client may have changes. The time here depends on how quickly they respond.
Finalization & File Delivery: The final steps of polishing the design and preparing the final files (AI, SVG, PNG, etc.).
Price Range: For a single, simple, original illustration created in Adobe Illustrator, I reasonably charge between $50 and $100.
Factors that influence the price within this range:
Complexity: A simple icon with two colors would be at the lower end ($50-$100), while a simple scene with a character and a basic background would be at the higher end ($100-$200).
Revisions: My price include 2-3 rounds of revisions. Extra revisions are free of charge.
Usage Rights: This is a crucial detail.
Real example:
Project: "The Owl" Spot Illustration
Goal: To create a simple, cheerful illustration for an owl graphic.
Process:
Briefing: Discussed the client's vision for a minimalist, friendly character.
Sketching & Concepts: Developed two initial concepts focusing on different poses and moods.
Vectorization: Vectorized the chosen concept in Adobe Illustrator, focusing on clean lines and a limited color palette to maintain a simple aesthetic.
Finalization: Delivered the final illustration in multiple formats (PNG for the web, SVG for scalability) and included a one-page style guide with the exact color codes used.
Timeline: This project was completed in 3 business days from the initial brief to final file delivery, including one round of client revisions.
