Creative Designter
Job Title: Creative Designer with AI experience
Company Overview:
At Legacy Cooperative, we serve Nebraska’s Panhandle through a unique combination of grocery stores, gas stations, home and ag energy services, and grain operations. We are a vital part of everyday life in our rural communities—and we’re ready to modernize the way our retail brand looks, feels, and connects with people.
With the retail division entering an exciting transformation, we’re looking for a standout creative professional to elevate our brand identity across in-store, digital, social, and video channels.
This role is ideally hybrid, with at least 3 days per week in-office in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. However, for the right candidate with an exceptional portfolio and relevant retail experience, remote work may be considered.
Job Overview:
We’re hiring a high-level AI Creative Designer to lead the full creative vision for Legacy Cooperative’s retail division—and for the right candidate, this is that rare opportunity: a blank canvas to build and direct the visual identity for a multichannel retail brand from the ground up.
Have you ever dreamed of being the creative force behind a brand that stands out like YETI, Magnolia, Buc-ee’s, Liquid Death, Wendy’s Twitter, Duolingo, or Glossier—where bold personality, emotional resonance, and consistency make customers feel something? This is that kind of role.
You won’t just execute assets—you’ll set the creative tone for in-store experiences, paid social ads, YouTube campaigns, billboards, radio, packaging, and more. You’ll help define what Legacy looks, feels, and sounds like across channels—and you’ll help build the creative team around that vision.
This is your chance to be the creative north star for a company ready to reinvent its retail presence and bring modern storytelling to rural communities.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the creation and refinement of retail brand identities across stores, gas stations, and loyalty-driven programs
Design campaign assets for in-store signage, print, digital, social, and short-form video
Collaborate with retail, marketing, and leadership teams to align creative with business goals
Edit and produce videos using tools like CapCut, Premiere, or similar for internal promotions and customer campaigns
Integrate AI tools (Midjourney, Runway, ChatGPT, etc.) to extend ideation and streamline workflows—while maintaining high visual standards
Use Photoshop, Illustrator, Canva, and Figma to craft polished, on-brand assets across formats
Develop presentation decks and creative toolkits that bring strategic ideas to life
Maintain a strong sense of visual consistency, storytelling, and creative innovation
Mentor junior creatives or collaborate with agencies or contractors as needed
Required Qualifications:
8+ years of experience in design, art direction, or creative leadership—preferably in retail, grocery, CPG, or convenience environments
Deep fluency in Photoshop, Illustrator, Figma, and Canva
Strong working knowledge of AI creative tools such as Midjourney, DALL·E, Runway, and ChatGPT
Video editing experience using CapCut, Adobe Premiere, or similar tools
Demonstrated ability to build a brand from scratch or lead a rebrand initiative
Strong portfolio featuring a wide range of non-AI creative work, especially in print, digital, and retail spaces.
Thrive in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments, delivering high-quality creative on quick turnarounds without sacrificing detail or brand consistency.
Possess a deep understanding of both traditional and digital design, with an exceptional eye for detail and superior production skills.
The successful applicant must have an impressive portfolio demonstrating relevant work experience, and an applied knowledge of typography, layout, and color theory.
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Positive, collaborative, and solution-oriented mindset
Must be available on-site in Scottsbluff at least 3 days per week
Bonus Points For:
Experience in grocery, fuel/convenience, or fast-paced retail settings
Familiarity with in-store marketing campaigns, customer experience design, or regional promotions
Insight into rural consumer behavior or regional brand positioning
Portfolio Requirement:
All applicants must include a portfolio demonstrating a strong range of non-AI visual work—such as campaign design, print layouts, signage, video, or brand identity. Applications without a portfolio will not be reviewed.
Benefits:
Competitive salary based on experience
Hybrid work model (3 days in-office preferred; remote possible for top-tier candidates).
Monthly Internet Stipend
401(k) with employer match
Pension Plan
Paid time off and holidays
Health, dental, and vision coverage
Company laptop and the tools you need to succeed
Creative ownership with the chance to build something from the ground up
A key seat at the table as we redefine the visual future of retail in rural America
