Cura is a software platform designed to simplify building maintenance and project management. It helps property managers, building owners, and teams organize maintenance requests, manage projects, coordinate with contractors and vendors, track tasks, and keep everything in one centralized system.
The goal is to take what is often a scattered, manual process of emails, texts, spreadsheets, and paperwork and bring it all together into one easy-to-use platform.
Cura is essentially a central hub for managing the ongoing care, maintenance, and projects associated with a building or property.
Branding Ideas
Cura Brand Notes & Creative Direction
1. Brand Name & Positioning
Brand Name
Cura
Meaning
Cura has Latin roots associated with:
* Care
* Maintaining
* Watching over
* Concern
* Attention
* Treatment
The meaning strongly supports the overall brand concept of taking care of facilities, assets, projects, and the people responsible for them.
Tagline Ideas
* Cura Takes Care
* Cura Takes Care of It
* Cura - We take good care.
* Cura - Taking care of everything
The tagline should reinforce the idea that Cura is not simply a software platform. It is a reliable partner that takes things off the customer’s plate.
Core Positioning
Cura is a plug-and-play, modular platform that acts as a concierge for:
* Facility maintenance
* Asset management
* Project management
* Construction/project teams
* Ongoing facility operations
The brand should feel like an extension of the customer’s team rather than another piece of software they have to manage.
Overall positioning:
A modern, dependable concierge for managing the things that need to be maintained, monitored, and taken care of.
⸻
2. Brand Personality & Tone
The brand should communicate:
Trustworthy
Cura needs to immediately feel dependable and credible.
Watchful
The idea of Cura continuously keeping an eye on things is important to the brand.
Dependable
Customers should feel that things are being handled and nothing is falling through the cracks.
Sophisticated
Modern and polished, without feeling flashy or overly technical.
Clean & Professional
The visual identity should be simple, organized, and easy to understand.
Practical & Approachable
Cura should feel useful and accessible rather than overly niche, complicated, or corporate.
Concierge / Membership Feel
The customer should feel like Cura is part of their team.
The experience should communicate:
“You don’t have to worry about it. Cura has it.”
⸻
3. Brand Keywords
These concepts should guide the creative direction:
Care
Maintain
Watchful
Concierge
Connected
Secure
Streamlined
All-in-one
Dependable
Protected
Organized
⸻
4. Target Users
Cura needs to appeal to a broad range of professional users, including:
* Facility managers
* Property operators
* Construction teams
* Project managers
* Agricultural/facility operations
* Condo boards
* Enterprise clients
* Multi-location businesses
* Large commercial chains
Enterprise Example
A company such as Starbucks could potentially use Cura across multiple locations, making scalability and professionalism particularly important.
⸻
5. Important Demographic Consideration
Many of the people making purchasing and operational decisions may be older professionals, including Boomers.
Because of this, the brand should prioritize:
* Clarity
* Simplicity
* Legibility
* Professionalism
* Familiarity
* Trust
Avoid:
* Overly trendy design
* Complicated visual systems
* Extremely abstract branding
* Aesthetic choices that make the product feel experimental
* Design that prioritizes “cool” over clarity
Desired feeling:
Modern capability + established reliability
Cura should look like a company that is technologically capable and trustworthy enough to manage important facilities and assets.
⸻
6. Visual Direction
The visual identity should feel:
Modern
Stable
Professional
Clean
Confident
Approachable
Organized
The brand should communicate technology without looking like a typical tech startup.
It should also communicate maintenance and stewardship without looking like a traditional maintenance company.
The sweet spot is:
Technology + care + reliability + professional service
⸻
7. Color Direction
Two primary color directions were discussed.
Direction A: Blues / Light Blues
Why:
Blue naturally communicates:
* Trust
* Security
* Reliability
* Professionalism
* Technology
* Stability
This direction could work particularly well for the primary Cura identity and digital platform.
Potential Use:
* Primary brand color
* Website
* Software UI
* Main logo
* Enterprise-facing materials
Overall feeling:
Professional, trustworthy, modern, secure.
⸻
Direction B: Earth Tones / Light Earthy Greens
Why:
Earthy greens can communicate:
* Care
* Stewardship
* Holistic thinking
* Connection
* Sustainability
* Facilities and physical assets
* Long-term maintenance
This direction could make Cura feel warmer and less like a traditional technology company.
Potential Use:
* Secondary palette
* Accent colors
* Alternative brand direction
* Marketing materials
Overall feeling:
Natural, grounded, holistic, caring.
⸻
Recommended Exploration
Rather than deciding on one direction immediately, develop two visual explorations:
Option 1: Blue-Led Cura
Trustworthy + technological + secure + professional
Option 2: Earth/Green-Led Cura
Caring + holistic + grounded + connected
This will allow stakeholders to compare the emotional difference between the two directions before committing to the final identity.
⸻
8. Logo & Mark Concepts
Several visual metaphors could be explored.
A. Swoosh / Band
A curved band or swoosh that suggests something wrapping around or encompassing an asset.
Potential meaning:
* Coverage
* Protection
* Oversight
* All-encompassing service
* Continuity
This could visually reinforce the idea that Cura has things covered.
⸻
B. Sacred Geometry / Interlocking Shapes
Explore simplified geometric forms that connect or interlock.
Potential meaning:
* Connection
* Systems
* Integration
* Multiple components working together
* Holistic oversight
* Modular platform
This could work particularly well with Cura’s modular platform concept.
⸻
C. Shield / Subtle Lock
A subtle shield or lock-inspired element could communicate:
* Protection
* Reliability
* Security
* Trust
* Safekeeping
Important: Keep this subtle.
The brand should not feel like:
* An insurance company
* A cybersecurity company
* A security company
The concept should communicate protection and dependability, without becoming the dominant visual message.
⸻
D. Concierge / Caretaking Motif
Explore an abstract representation of:
* A helping hand
* Caretaking
* Guidance
* Assistance
* Someone looking after something
The goal would be to turn the concept into a simple, sophisticated mark, rather than using an obvious literal hand or person.
⸻
9. Overall Creative North Star
The brand should ultimately answer one question:
“How does Cura make someone feel?”
The desired answer:
“I’ve got someone looking after this.”
Cura should feel like the reliable person on your team who is watching, organizing, maintaining, and taking care of things before they become problems.
The brand should balance:
Technology
↕
Human care
Professional
↕
Approachable
Modern
↕
Stable
Security
Competitors
Three simple circles. Very minimal, friendly, modern, and recognizable.
Monday.com
Simple geometric shapes with bright colours. Feels approachable and software-focused.
Procore
More industrial/construction-oriented. Useful reference for Cura’s building/project-management side.
MaintainX
Probably one of the closest references for the maintenance component. The X gives it a strong, simple app-icon quality.
UpKeep
Interesting because they incorporate a gear + heart, directly connecting maintenance with care. I actually think this is a useful reference for Cura conceptually, although I wouldn’t copy the visual direction.
AppFolio
More property-management oriented and tends to feel more corporate.
