Sophie Hall

My professional career began in 2012 with an exclusive apprenticeship with an esteemed UK artist, where I learned still life oil painting techniques, how to draw and paint from life, as well as various traditional studio skills including panel and frame making. Since then I have worked as a sole trading artist for 10 years, honing my skills and developing various projects and portfolios, alongside commission work. My artwork covers a range of subjects with a specialism in oil portraits and figure drawings, and in the last few years I’ve developed more into wildlife artwork. These skills were honed during the pandemic, when I set myself the challenge of drawing a new work every day of the lockdown.

Separate to my artwork I also use the skills learned in developing my business to help improve branding and graphic design for local businesses. The largest of these projects included rebuilding the website for a local theatre, designing a new logo, branding and print advertising, which provided a refreshed brand.
