According to the European Commission millennials are known as the indoor generation because they spend 90% of their time indoors.
We move from home to office by generic modes of transport that keep a barrier between us and the outside. Our home is indoors, our workplace is indoors, our gyms are indoors, even our headspace is closed off as the majority of us are constantly plugged in via earphones, rather than listening to the sounds of the physical world.
This could be a result of our need to disconnect from constant distractions and get back to ourselves so we can connect with our creativity.
