The way to shoot and retouch a product photo is simple. All you need to do is to make the main object the brightest part in the photo. You can achieve it by making the main object color stand out or pointing the main light to that specific part. It is all about light and contrast.

When working on product photography, we tried to minimize the number of objects in one photo, the more the object you need to take care of, the more lighting equipment you need. You also need to consider the power of the light, the size of the studio and the makeup of the model. In Unicorn Vision, we do not encourage to put all the workload in the post-production process. We will try our best in the photo shooting section to achieve the goal then do a minimal retouch afterward. This approach can help us shorten the time in the post-production and lower the cost.
