Daily UI #025 | TV App

I’ve noticed that our TV App to watch movies with is of very poor quality. The available movies are displayed in a mere table—which gives no clue about the content of the movie other than the title and genre that comes listed with it. For this reason, we never use this TV App. It simply doesn’t provide enough information for us to decide whether we want to watch the movie or not. That is, unless you immediately pay to watch the movie.

These problems are solved with the TV App that I designed today. The most important elements on these pages are meant to give a preview and a good impression about given movies.

For that, I’ve added relevant information such as imagery (which could also function as a placeholder for movie trailers and such), a brief description about the movie, the rating, age-limit, year of release, and the genres. Like this, the user should have enough information to make a careful decision to watch the movie—which in turn should avoid frustration and prevent the user from exiting the TV App.

On top of that, I’ve added smooth animations to make interacting with the interface a more pleasant and delightful experience for the user. Rather than scrolling through a boring list of movie titles—as I mentioned in the problem statement earlier.

What do you think about how it turned out?
