--1/52-- Hooligans Super Bar

***Lengthy post alert*** Stay with me

I’m finally doing a design challenge. I realized that a daily challenge is just unrealistic for me. So I’m going with weekly. 52 weeks, 52 posts. I’m already a few weeks behind, but I’ll make up for it along the way. If I miss a week... get off my back, I’ll catch up at some point. So here we go... Here is my challenge: Promote what makes my city unique through design. Each week I plan to feature one of my favorite things about living in Milwaukee. This could be everything from a corner bar I like, a brand headquartered here or simply a neighborhood I love. I’ll create a post (could be an illustration, could be lettering, could be a photo, could be anything), and I’ll explain why I love it and maybe a little history lesson. The idea is to recognize these things as great reasons to visit Milwaukee. For all of you out there who have never been here, let this be your guide.

Also...I encourage everyone else to join in and promote their city (or more from this city!) use #MyLocalContent

---1/52--- First up... Hooligans on North Ave. If you know me, you know this is my go-to for everything. I've been known to be there almost every Saturday. Great food, great booze, nice people, perfect atmosphere. You can’t beat their patio in the summer. It holds a special place in my heart because it was one of the first places I went to when I moved to Milwaukee from Chicago. I lived blocks away for almost 6 years. I've probably overstayed my welcome on occasions (early brunches that turn into all day cocktails). So here’s to your hospitality, Hooligans. I love you.
