SpoOoOoky Spider (Not really)

Since it’s almost Halloween, I chose to draw a spider because they fucking creep me out. Like I’ve previously said, I like to dig around at the meanings of tattoos and symbols. Aside from the obvious theme of fear, I found they also symbolize patience and persistence due to their hunting technique. Yeah, kinda morbid but, I dig it.

Okay, but in my Googling I also found a story if you want a dose of inspiration instead. It goes:

The king of Scotland took refuge in a cave on Rathlin Island during military failures against the English. While in the cave he witnessed a spider failing to climb its thread to its web. However, due to perseverance the spider eventually succeeds, demonstrating that “if at first you don’t succeed, try, and try again”. And so the king took that as a symbol of hope and eventually won Scotland’s independence.
