Uber App Revisions (selected)

This is simply a UX/UI design exercise.

After doing a quick case study on the Uber app, I created a few mockups with some proposed revisions. Top screenshots are the existing app; under each are my reimagining of those screens.

I took an "economy of space" approach in bringing more elements into view, still maintaining enough spacing to discern one selection from another.

In the initial screen(s) to request a ride, I placed the destination entry and scheduling button at the top, and flanked them and the menu icon in a transparent but visible background to bring more visual emphasis.

Although not as prominent, moving the destination and schedule elements into the same vertical space where the secondary screen continues (choosing a rider, destination, adding stops) keeps the eye focused and the user engaged in that area. I also placed the microphone icon into the destination entry to initiate voice-to-text from the start. Location is deemphasized while Destination is made more prominent.

In the initial screen, I'm including a relative time to your location to better judge your wait time. I also included the Uber Eats, and JUMP bike and scooter functions at the bottom to easily toggle between them.

In the third screen, the menu is a bit slimmer, placing each of the main areas (profile/rating, promotions, and menu functions) into their own designated spaces. Settings is set apart at the bottom for quicker scanning. Logout could also be added with it.

The Help section is slimmed down considerably, with the full list of selections now presented upon initial view. The Account section is also slimmed down, allowing for greater visibility while selections are made more prominent through a consistent color, providing greater visual queues.
