Illustrated Album Covers - Wish You Were Here

Inspired by the illustrations from classic children's books, this is one of 18 new illustrated album covers I put together for an art show in my hometown.

Wish You Were Here by Pink Floyd. One of Pink Floyd’s many iconic covers (courtesy of Storm Thorgerson and Hipgnosis), and probably my favourite.

Cover aside, this is an absolutely beautiful album. From the Syd Barrett tribute “Shine On You Crazy Diamond” (which bookends the album), to the title track, and one of my favourite lyrics of all time – “We’re just two lost souls swimming in a fish bowl, year after year.”

All album covers were initially sketched in pencil, then scanned into Illustrator and then traced into a Live Paint vector image. Shading and strokes were added in Illustrator as well, using the amazing RetroSupply Co. Gouache Shader Brushes.
