Saul

This is a picture of Saul, as I think of him, when he is first introduced in 1 Samuel. His story is, to me, a profound mystery of becoming. One I feel like I resonate with in every unknown ahead. He may grow to hurt me and I may grow to hate him, but here I do not. Here I marvel beside him, listening to the prophet’s words “...And for whom is all that is desirable in Israel? Is it not for you and for all your father’s house?”
