Smart Recommendation Experience
At Mailchimp, we're always looking for ways on how we can anticipate and improve our customer's experience when using our product.
Based on our customer's feedback, we've been doing some research and exploration around ways that we can offer smart guidance and recommendations during key moments in the app that will help add value to their business and improve their marketing skills.
Based on that space, I wanted to explore how that recommendation/suggestion moment might look like surfaced in the app and what interactions might go along with that.
I put together this wireframe/prototype to begin exploring some interaction possibilities for this feature. Some goals of mine with this prototype include making the component itself distinct enough to stand out from the rest of the design patterns on the page, not interrupt a user's task, and provide a way to dismiss the recommendation if they don't have time to engage with it at the moment.
Not captured in this prototype yet, but I'm also thinking of ways to incorporate "saving" or "bookmarking" the recc.
Lastly, I wanted to make the experience of viewing the recommendation as seamless as possible, providing a preview of the action we are recommending they take, providing a clear way to get there, and offering a nice, asynchronous page load behind a nice transition.
Looking forward to developing this idea with the team, testing with users, and exploring additional possibilities!
