Tempting Magnet website illustration: digital art painting

Hey guys,

Today we want to share a behind the scenes glimpse into our internal educational process.

We believe in order to stay creative and fresh, it’s important to consistently try new things. So once a week, we challenge our illustrative team to reach outside of their comfort zone and participate in fun exercises that foster growth and innovation.

We’ve named this specific weekly exercise “Randominds”.

To start, we choose one reference style from a specific artist whose form we appreciate. We then use a software tool to randomly generate a set of words.

From here, we challenge our illustrators to bring these randomly generated words to life while emulating the chosen style.

This exercise works wonders in improving an illustrator's ability to create visual metaphors and capture an illustrative style.

We made this illustration based on the word pairing "Tempting Magnet" and inspired by Gabriel Silveira's style.
