Description: I designed this postcard as a tribute to my hometown Sinj. The postcard tells the historical story of how only 700 local defenders repulsed an attack of tens of thousands of Ottomans on Sinj in 1715. The disordered Ottoman army, weakened by hunger and the outbreak of dysentery, left the Cetinska Krajina region. Christians believe that the battle was won with the help of the Miraculous Madonna of Sinj who magically appeared, scared the Ottoman soldiers and made them desert the battlefield in fear.
