Michael Che Portrait Rd.xBLU// Series
"You need a license to shampoo dogs in this country, but letting me pick a president without knowing anything about politics seems safe to you?" @Michael Che has always stunned me as a comedian. Using logic as humor to make someone's head turn. I only found out about Michael Che through a comedy special from 2016 I saw on Netflix. Then Weekend Update, and SNL. I find it absurdly interesting how race plays such a huge part in his writing/train of thought. Being Puerto Rican raced in the island, you don't get much of that, unless you're in a really rich neighborhood. But when I got to Chicago and moved to one of the nicer part of town, I could see the white people giving me the "you must be one of the workers" or that follow you around the store shit as if I didn't have money. I can't picture having that happen to me as a child. But it does feel nice to flex from time to time and make white people feel smaller. And it might sound petty, yes, but the second they ask you if you are a "rapper" or a "producer", I go back to giving cero fucks, because you know, the only way a latino or a black person can make money is if they make music.
