OOW Focus logo: Finger cropping
Every year Oracle holds a huge conference (Oracle OpenWorld) in San Francisco for business decision-makers, IT management, and line-of-business end users. Oracle Open World Focus was a series of smaller conferences with a particular focus on the region they are held in (Europe, Asia, Africa, Latin America). This project was to develop a separate identity for these conferences that could be related to the main OOW one.
For this concept I was inspired by the process of using fingers to crop a view, sometimes called finger-cropping to find a focus for composition or a photo. Luckily the existing 3D shadows of the original OOW logo leant itself to being used this way, providing a sense of connection.
