Talnua Logo

I spend most of my time focused on UX, but here is a logo I designed recently for Talnua Distillery.

It was important for the brand to feel both classic / traditional yet still contemporary.

The symbolism of the logo reflects the story of the distillery and it's name which is derived from the Irish-Gaelic words ‘Talamnh’, meaning ‘Land’, and ‘Nua’, meaning ‘New’.

The distillery is bringing an old-world style of distilling to the new land that is America. The big horn ram on the flatirons of Colorado’s Front Range represents the distillery location. It is looking back on a triskele moon, which represents the Irish-Gaelic old world, home to the distilling traditions they honor.
