B is for Bop It

It’s time to turn off “Saved by the Bell,” tighten your scrunchies, and bring on the anxiety attack that is Bop-It. The object of the game was to QUICKLY perform the audio commands, “bop it”, “twist it”, or “pull it." The Bop-It Extreme added "spin it" and "flick it." If you messed up, which was inevitable, it would make a fail sound that you always got stuck in your head, along with the catchy Bop-it beat.

Dan Klitsner, the inventor, originally used Homer Simpson’s “D’oh” for the game over sound, but that didn’t make it into the final product for obvious reasons. He was told the Bop-It rage would die in 3 years, but it only got more popular. Now there are 9 different versions overall.
