This is the first in a new series. There are quite a few houses and buildings in the Lethbridge area that have been marked as Historical Sites. This series will work through each one.

This is the Shackleford Residence. The home was built in 1927. What makes this home interesting is the cottage style design elements including the hipped gable roof with round eaves, eyebrow dormer windows and stucco chimney.

The original owner of the home, Alfred W. Shackleford, was Lethbridge's first Alderman and also served as Mayor from 1944 - 46, 1952 - 55, and 1957 - 61.
