Help to Rally’s Crew
The crew: a driver and a co-driver
*A co-driver is the navigator of a rally car in the sport of rallying, who sits in the front passenger seat.
Before the competition, the driver and the co-driver get to know the track in terms of turnings and junctions. The co-driver dictates where to turn. The driver dictates the complexity of the turns, the surface of the road, the distances and the other peculiarities of the track. The co-driver carefully records the driver’s words in a tight shorthand. This speed transcript is the main assistant in the competition, because the driver knows about all complexities and notable features in advance.
Now pacenotes are written in a tight shorthand which is read out loud by the co-driver to the driver. I offer to record the driver’s speech on a voice recorder. Later this recording may be printed out directly from the phone.
