Daily UI 09: music player

This is mockup for a speculative music player interface. It combines the functionality of a music player with the informative depth of a data visualization.

How so? The multi-colored waveform shows you the sounds (bass, treble, etc.) and the respective pitch of those sounds as the track plays.

The slider icon shows the affordances for interaction: slide the slider forward to fast-forward (and, when the halo closes, to skip to the next track); slide it backwards to rewind (until the track skips to the previous); slide the slider up or down, along the vertical axis, to raise or lower the volume.

Point is, this music player doesn't just let you play music - it lets you explore the composition itself as a synaesthetic tactile, visual, and auditory experience.
