Daily UI 004: Calculator

Day 4 of the daily UI challenge: Design a calculator.

There are lots of beautiful designs of basic calculators already, and there are only so many ways to iterate on the concept, so I wanted to try something different.

A calculator with unit conversion seemed like it'd be fun and not too complex for a daily design. The iPad's screen size was a good fit for this kind of app.

I decided to stick close to the iOS design system for this one. I really like the dark versions of the native controls.

One idea I played with was the suggested conversions feature seen in the left panel. The app could analyse the user's clipboard and previous conversions to provide quick shortcuts.
