Afterhours ATX 2017
Had the amazing opportunity to be accepted into the wonderful Afterhours ATX show in 2017, where a select number of Austin TX artists get a prompt and create posters where portion of all sales go to non profits helping the community.
This show it was supporting Austin Youth Homelessness organizations, and the theme was home. This was my print, and heres the wonderful description that came along with it.
STARDATE UNKNOWN
Born to a life of cosmic aspirations and space voyage, I grew up in a environment of chaos and space rifts. The depths of space were both curious and lonely, but I was very fortunate for the volumes of earth cartoons, Warhammer codices, and endless heroes to consume my days in the echoes of travel.
In mid-warp, I dreamt upon the blanket of intrigue by constructing war torn worlds, epic battles, defiant mega bots, and gruesome monsters. I traveled the deep sands of distant worlds, fought and served with honor and valor with some of the greatest star commandos in the galactic systems, and through glory and defeat, I learned true right and wrong.
Although the times were sometimes painful, and lost, those travels and cosmic wormholes gave me realms to grow, learn, and explore the universe of my own self. Through all of those adventures, both in fiction and fact, in excitement and pain, I learned that my personal strength and comfort did not colonize a single world, but that the furious, intense, warp-speed-attack-tiger-cruiser that was my own battled and electrified mind, was where I felt most at home.
To all of the beings of all of the galaxies, the travels have yet to begun, the adventures have yet to embark, and for where in the cosmic timeline I exist, the stardate rests unknown......
Cobra out.
