MEREMI || MEMORIES OF RESISTANCE IN MILAN

M E R E M I is an application that guides citizens and tourists in the metropolitan city of Milan, in places mentioned in Giovanni Pesce’s book (Senza tregua | Without rest) and Elio Vittorini’s one ( Uomini e no | Men and Not Men). The app proposes different itineraries divided into two main groups: Fictional and Biographical that drive users in discovering symbols, places, people of the city that has been the protagonist. Each “story” is illustrated and narrated through vintage photos, quotes from Pesce and Vittorini’s books, music, testimonies of partisans and survivors who have lived their own skin the partisan struggle. In the fictional part, it is possible to listen to actors performing the book’s passage taken into consideration in the stop’s context.
At the same time, users have the chance not only to re-discover Milan but also support A.N.P.I association with a symbolic act of Resistance movement and partisans. The meaning of this flower is related to the Resistance and more specifically to all the people and partisans sacrificed their lives to liberate the country.
