The Future Is Now

Before Oculus Rift there were inventions like the aforementioned Sensorama, an equally intriguing "Sword of Damocles", and a pilot-training Super Cockpit followed up by an experimental map of Aspen created with a technology much reminiscent of Google Earth, combining pictures taken from a moving car.

Even the most popular 90’s pastime provider - Sega had its go at Virtual Reality in the 80’s. All these, however, were weighted down by one major disadvantage - large and expensive headsets, which in best case scenario were a close copy of the Robocop headwear.
