And All That Jazz
"Why don't we paint the town . . ." - Chicago (2002)
Inspired by 1920's (Jazz Age) newspaper typography.
The newsprint texts were derived from the musical numbers in the film.
The film and stage musical were based on a 1920's play written by Maurine Watkins upon covering (as a Chicago Tribune reporter) the murders and subsequent trials of 2 women who claimed to be corrupted by men and liquor.
