Inktober 2018: Precious Hand

For day 9, precious, I wanted to do a Lord of the Rings reference. Instead of the more famous scene of Gollum reaching for the ring or holding it between his two fingers, Instead I opted to draw an angled palm; how he might hold it once he had it safely.

I find this angle particularly challenging to draw, as the dimensionality can make the hand proportions look wrong.

For Inktober 2018, I'm going to practice illustration tactile-style first. In the spirit of the event, I'll ink the drawings first before vectorising.

To constrain my ideas, I'm going to further theme the prompts as all being expressions of hands. I love hands; they're supremely expressive yet difficult to draw.
