Character style development

I'm trying to develop my own style so I've been exploring a few options for people and I'm getting happier with where its going. I still think they need more work to really nail the style. But I'm trying to fit this in alongside actual design work that pays the bills so it's a long process :P

I'm debating introducing outlines - what do you guys think?
