Inktober 2018: Roasted Hand

For day 3, roasted was the theme. I chose the conceptual idea of getting 'roasted', as in mocked or teased by your peers. The hand expresses shyness and a bit of shame.

I really struggled with the shape of this hand, so I was able to spend less time on shading and coloration. I'm learning that coloration and shading greatly influence form.

For Inktober 2018, I'm going to practice illustration tactile-style first. In the spirit of the event, I'll ink the drawings first before vectorizing.

To constrain my ideas, I'm going to further theme the prompts as all being expressions of hands. I love hands; they're supremely expressive yet difficult to draw.
