"The place I work for is wanting a new website. You do websites, right?"

I told him yes, I do websites, and that I would send them an email. Never in my career had I been hired to do an entire website project by myself from research to design to development to launch, but why not pitch it?

A month passed and I heard nothing. It wasn't disappointing - there wasn't an expectation that I'd get the gig. After all, they were shopping around and I was competing with agencies. But then I heard back. The job was mine!

There are things about it I'm proud of, things I'm painfully aware of that could have been done better, but mostly things that I enjoyed building and learning from.
