I’ve become a bit of a news junkie, so I was stoked when Google launched the Google News app a few months ago. Their background in algorithms and innovation in machine learning make this a great opportunity to showcase technology for the greater good.

But I was disappointed with some of the design decisions that were made. So I decided to make a few tweaks…which quickly turned into a full teardown of the app.
