Animation Is Emotion
Animators and actors basically do the same job, they express emotions. Except I'm so shy, I would literally melt in front of a camera. So I choose the second way, animation !
Walkcycle is such a common exercise, seems easy, but it's really hard. You can spend so much time tweaking, to change your character's expression. It's interesting to see how such a simple movement can have a huge amount of alternatives. Happy walk, sad walk, you can choose whatever you want, we could tell a whole story using only walkcycles (no guarantee it would be fun thought š§)!
But only sharing emotions would be too easy ! Animators also have to be physicists, don't you dare forget the gravity ! š And this is another challenge, it is really though to make that leg feel like it is pulled down on the ground.
Well, I guess animation requires more than a lifetime to be mastered, that's why books from former animators are so useful !
