Moon Artwork 1 - Tahi Marama

This large artwork (920mm dia) was made from old houses of the victorian era. It all began in 2014 when I started renovations to my own 1910 villa, I just couldn't throw away all that wonderful history, so I set out to make 3 moon art pieces. The moon was something that I felt strongly about at the time and one piece just wouldn't do justice to what I imagined.

I have since made 10 in all, people wanted them so I sold them through a gallery/shop, this has enabled me to keep making more. Everything is drawn and cut by my own hand, I use a bandsaw, glue, screws and nails and I construct the frames from old sheets of galvanised roofing.

I've since run out of material from my own house so I'm constantly on the lookout for more gems from local building sites, timber, wallpaper, vinyl flooring, whatever interesting gems I can find.

Many thanks @Rich Scott for getting me started on Dribbble
