Avenue Values

What’s behind this poster is months of effort working to capture and represent who we truly are as a company. It was important that these values be simple, usable, and honest.

This is who we are, not defined just by leadership, but by every person in the company and every person we hope to hire.

Avenue’s process for defining company values:

1. Send out a survey to every employee asking them a series of questions that are meant to extract what they’re looking for from an organization and its people. This is important in engaging people in the process.
2. Get together as a leadership team to review and collate the response. Look for patterns, synthesize their responses.
3. Present first iteration to the company, then collect feedback from each team on how it relates to their individual roles.
4. Take that feedback and start iterating on the concepts.
5. Start using the concepts in practice with employees.
6. Wordsmith.
7. Present.
