Spirits of Mexico
I was commissioned to design an interactive and educational event. For this event the theme was "Spirits of Mexico."
These menus were designed in InDesign. I posted a photo rather than a design file because the thick textured paper really help the design look and feel great. The menus were just a touch point in the overall design of the event. I designed the theme of the event, curated the selection of spirits, and design three custom cocktails
Event Details
The event was an interactive two hour class focused on Tequila, but provided a couple examples of Mezcal (parent category to Tequila) and Sotol (desert spoon, but processed similar to mezcal) for contrast.
The focus was to learn about the different types of Tequila and the Tequila making process. The group tried Tequila that was slow cooked with an autoclave then distilled by both a column and a pot still. They also got to try Tequila made with traditional methods where the agave is slow roasted in brick ovens, mashed with tahonas, fermentation with fibers naturally in wooden tanks, and then distilled twice with a pot still.
After trying each spirit and discussing the flavors and qualities of each we moved on to cocktails. I attached photos of the three cocktails.
My family lives in Guadalajara, about an hour from the town of Tequila, so it was awesome to share some culture and spirits with some fellow enthusiasts.
