Coffee Recipes
When I make coffee in my Chemex every morning, i follow a simple recipe that I basically have memorized at this point. Sometimes I'd have to make small adjustments to make coffee for larger groups or if I have a peculiar amount of beans. This necessitated needing to adjust the amount of beans and for that adjustment to recalculate all subsequent steps.
My first version started in a spreadsheet, which graduated to a few codepens.
I recently spent a couple weekends to add it on to my SoCal coffee directory website http://socal.coffee. In addition to the Chemex recipe, I built recipes for Aeropress, Pourover, and French Press. All of the recipes calculations are written with vanilla JavaScript and calculate all of the numbers on the fly as you adjust the input. They're all reverse-engineered versions of my favorite recipes out there.
Go enjoy some good coffee.
Note: I want to acknowledge that, yes, coffee making can have recipes just like any other preparation of food/drink. Delicate attention and refinement to the process of making anything is itself a recipe.
