The Guggenheim Museum

The Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum is an iconic beige building as exceptional as the Whitney Museum. The masterpiece located on the Upper East Side, was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, recognized as the greatest American architect of all time in 1991 by the American Institute of Architects (AIA).

First opened in 1959, the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum offers a unique and immersive exhibit experience thanks to its spiral ramp riding to a large domed skylight that recalls a nautilus shell.

Lloyd Wright’s vision was to create an open space which embraces nature and its vibrant environment. From there, you can admire visionary artworks by taking an elevator to the top and enjoy them by walking down gradually The art collection is huge and composed of most influential artists of the 20th century like Picasso, Kandinsky, Mondrian, Duchamp, Brancusi, Pollock and more. Don’t miss them, they are currently displayed in multiple galleries of the museum. Then, all that remains is flying to visit its impressive sister museums in Venice, Bilbao and Abu Dhabi.

Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, 1071 5th Ave, New York, NY 10128.
