Nike Air Max 93

As a sneakers fan, I always feel like I'm wearing a bit of graphic design on my feet.

I really enjoyed illustrating my new Nikes: the Air Max 93, currently my favorite paire.
To me, the hardest part of this work was to reproduce the laces and the upper mesh, and I'm still not sure I've chosen the best way to do it. But I thought "Just Do It"!

I first created a pattern and then used the envelope distort tool from Illustrator.
All advices are welcome. So let me know guys if you would have done anything differently.
