The thing about coming from a traditional background and schooling is you get an idea for how texture operates in relation to creating a composition.

I paint because I love the ability to layer textures and determine what you want to do just by using pressure, brushes, more oil, less oil, w/e.

When that transitions to digital you get a different thing, you learn to simulate texture. The most beautiful designs I see are those that create some sort of space or texture.
