Sci-Fi UI #5 - HAL 9000

I recently started noticing that a lot of interfaces have signs of inspiration from classic fiction. 2001: A Space Odyssey is a great example of this, there are definitely certain similarities between HAL and modern AI’s like SIRI and Cortana, so it would be interesting to know if HAL predicted modern AI or whether modern AI was inspired by HAL.
