Consider Your Strategy
If there’s a constant pattern I’ve noticed from these Old Testament readings, it’s that God is a strategist. Read about how God filled up a dry valley with water (without the use of rain), before armies Judah, Israel, and Edom made their way to fight the people at Moab. As the sun set, its reflection caused to resemble blood to the Moabites. They thought to themselves, “these goons killed each other—let’s go and finish’em up!” Because it was God’s plan to wipe out the Moabites, that water was strategically filled. God spoke to the three kings through Elisha, saying the water would be to keep the boys and animals hydrated; it turned out to be a deadly distraction.

I know there’s more to learn here than this but one takeaway I think is valid would be to—before jumping into anything—consider your strategy. Think about the options and always look to God for direction.
