wdky joe photography logo pt. 1

Over the holidays I got to work on possibly one of my favorite logo projects to date. I worked with a super talented photographer (see his work here) to create a visual identity that could be used a crossed all of his subjects; landscapes and portraits as well as a possible street wear brand in the future.

A little bit about the concept behind the mark:

The logo is inspired by the perfect reflection of mountains on glassy smooth lakes as I used the client's photography as reference. It showcases an eye in the center that would not be possible without the reflective image, which calls to the idea of the balance between humanity and the wild. I wanted to create something that incorporated geometric shapes as this is often prevalent in nature and man-made structures alike. The overall form is a nod to a compass with points at north, east, south, and west.
