Part of a number of illustrations realised in 2017 for the Book Review section of Sir Edmund (De Volkskrant).

This was an illustration for the book “Paul Valéry: Cahiers”. Valery was a poet who actually wanted to be a mathematician/scientist. He’d say that "if you look carefully you can see Pythagora's theorem in poetry”. 

So we exchanged numbers for letters in a classic calculator.

It says “Paul” in the screen since the reviewer explains how Paul Valéry is the “kind of artist really concentrated on the self”. haha. We thought it was funny.
